On-location Photography Mote Park … Fabulous session with the Lambourne Family
On-location photography really is totally awesome and the kids absolutely love it, plus they remember it as a special occasion, a special trip out with Mum and Dad. I met with the Lambourne Family at Mote Park late morning and the weather was perfect … sunshine and shade, which meant I could capture a lovely range of photos, from the sun illuminating the siblings faces whilst they nestled in the long dry grass and then later the family pictures were taken under a nice soft shade cast from the clouds. on-location photography mote park
So …. if on-location photography isnt fab enough, it’s Autumn ….. and with Autumn comes lots and lots AND lots of rusty red and burnt orange fallen leaves, which of course equals lots and lots of fun as the family tickles eachother and roll around in the autumnal leaf carpet. family on-location photography mote park
The Lambourne Crew arrived pretty excited, all except Dad, I think he was secretly dreading the whole experience. The siblings, Abigail 8, Sebastian 7 and Christopher 4 were gorgeous and settled straight into having their pics taken. Mum and Dad took a back seat observing their characters and Im sure wondering how they would continue to react to being in such close proximatey to eachother for longer than a few seconds! But they were beautiful and fabulous. family on-location photography mote park
I used a few different Nikon lenses, a 50mm, 24-70 and 80-200mm, mostly shot at 2.8f to create a lovely shallow depth of filed, which beautifully highlights the subjects whilst creating a soft bokeh background. The photoshoot lasts up to one hour, which is perfectly ample time for us to explore the grounds and capture some great and very natural family photos. f Family on-location photography mote park
Mote Park is a great place for on-location photography, as it yields copious platforms for photos; benches, trees, long winding paths, tons of leaves in the Autumn, children’s play area, large Duck Pond, ornate railings and more. Mote Park is a 180 hectare multi-use public park in Maidstone, Kent. Previously a country estate it was converted to landscaped park land at the end of the 18th century before becoming a municipal park. It includes the former stately home Mote House together with a miniature railway, pitch and putt golf course and a boating lake. The park has also been used as a cricket ground for the Kent County Cricket Club. Mote House is set in 450 acres (1.8 km2) of garden landscape.
