Westerham Golf Club – The Le Gall’s special day at Westerham Golf Club
The day dawned bright and clear, perfect for Nicky and Barrie Le Gall’s wedding day! The intense blue of the sky on a clear summer morning, the trees a deep green, not a hint of rain, everything as beautiful as it could be, a perfect backdrop for the wedding. At the King Georges Hotel, Rochester, Kent, the bridal party woke up to this glorious day and the preparations for the wedding were soon underway.
The personal touches that Nicky has planned – bridesmaid t-shirts, a special t-shirt for her mother which pronounced her as the mother of the bride, and a special one for herself announcing ‘the bride’, ‘Father of the bride’ cuff links – all added to the significance of the occasion. Filming those extraordinary moments when her mum opened the champagne to celebrate the occasion, her bridesmaids looking beautiful in their braided red gowns, the bride herself a vision, in her flowing white gown with a beautiful bouquet of red and white flowers laced through with dainty pearls, were some of the highlights of my day. Westerham golf club photographer.
I have known Barrie for 7 years, we met at the very last place I worked before I decided to become a full-time professional photographer, and I have never seen him so emotional before. At the Westerham Golf Club he was anxiously waiting for his bride to arrive. Barrie is very close to his mother and she was extremely happy to be there for his special day. The venue was resplendent with the red and white theme of the wedding and Barrie looked dapper in his slate grey morning suit with a red boutonniere.
It was a poignant moment for all present when Nicky walked in on the arms of her father. The groom looked all proud and bashful. The ring holders, in the shape of red roses added an element of romance. I took dozens of photographs that captured the beautiful ceremony. Once the formal ceremony was done, it was time for socialising and everyone had such wonderful things to say about the beautiful couple.
Nicky and Barrie were excited about the outdoor romantic portraiture where they posed with abandon, kissing playfully while walking down the driveway. Their enthusiasm is quite evident from some of the quirky shots I took, including the one where they are hanging out of a golf buggy while it is almost submerged in water. The square red and white three tier cake with an elegant bow on top was another beautiful prop that helped capture the romance of the occasion.
You will notice some tricks like dropping the exposure to intensify the silhouette and brighten the skyline colors in the sunset picture, black and white shots interspersed with coloured ones to capture the emotions of the day and such a glorious one at that!
Huge congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Le Gall!
