Boys Cake Smash Photography Sittingbourne 1 year old Rocco
Celebrating Baby Rocco’s 1st Birthday Party!
It’s no secret! The first birthday photo shoot of a baby with cake stuffed all over his face has relatively become a new trend now. It merely takes a few traditional first bites of the birthday cake to get charmingly delightful pictures of your darling honeybunch. To boot it up, some cute props added here and there can instantly elevate his photographs to the next level.
Being a professional photographer, I have done many Cake Smash Photoshoots and to be honest, it’s something that gives me immense pleasure. It’s fun to watch both parents and babies getting all dirty with lip-smacking yummy cakes. Such was the birthday party of the cute little birthday boy Rocco. Last year, on October 20th 2015, this sweet sugar plum turned one year old. As the proud parents celebrated this occasion with sheer fun and joy, I was hired to shoot this exciting messy play. boys cake smash photography
My clients usually come to me through recommendation, or they are an existing client and were happy with the quality of the images which were presented to them before. Plus they know I will always placed the child’s needs as first. This cake smash photography shoot was no different. I tried to match the pace of this 1 year old sweetie pie Rocco, without getting him bored. To make the session more interesting so the child can have fun during the shoot, I used props like balloons and cake smash bunting against a blue coloured backdrop. As this little toddler – wearing a cute white-blue polka-dot bow tie, matching pants and a little pom pom party hat – started to smash his blue coloured cake decorated with chocolate brown stars, I was all geared up to tap into this curious child’s attempt to taste and sense the world around him. While Rocco focused on exploring things to play around, I prepared to start his cake smash party photoshoot. There are a few stages….
Stage I: It includes shooting the amusing images of little Rocco before he immersed himself in the sweet delight.
Stage II: This is the fun act of introducing baby with the cake and props. boys cake smash photography
Stage III: This is the action time! Yes, it includes capturing pics of the baby when he begins to mess around with the cake by dipping his fingers in deliciously baked fancy cake and splashing cream all over his face and body. Little Rocco needed a little bait, so I dug a big spoon into the cake which he then grabbed with great delight!
Stage IV: This is the stage when the child is fully exhausted and fawned over that sticky mess and we get the little metal bath tub out, full of water and bubbles ….. and boy did he splash! boys cake smash photography
After the shoot, I received a heart-warming note from the parents:
“Joanne is a thorough professional photographer. We really loved the way she photographed our little one on his first birthday. She completely understands what a child needs and appreciates the importance of special moments. She never hurried-up Rocco’s cake smash birthday shoot, was very patient, relaxed, and chilled out as our baby got familiar with her and the new environment. Moreover, the quality of photographs taken by her are quite impressive and worth every penny. Thanks Joanne for perfectly capturing the amazing and special moments for us!”
