The answer may sound obvious … but your kids grow up fast, and before you know it, they are past that baby stage and have become young adults. Professional photography captures the way your children and family look and feel at this time … and all in a very special and enchanting way. Together, we have the best opportunity, to freeze these moments in time, so they last forever.
With the era of digital photography, it is very easy for you to snap away with your phones and compact cameras, but for a more personal, magical take, you will need a professional photographer who has experience and portfolios with this type of work. It is specialised and a skill learnt from experience. I use dedicated lenses which can trace even the finest hairs on your baby’s skin or capture a vast coastal line with the sun setting and your family holding hands silhouette against the horizon. Plus everyone can be in the picture, including the family member who tends to take them…. hence is always missing from the album!

I recently covered another photoshoot for Jo Kesby and her girls, as every year she selects her favourites, puts them in a large frame and gives this as gift to her Parents. This is one present guaranteed to bring a tear to their eyes, they want to be reminded of the children and family that they love.
CAN I CHOOSE WHERE THE PHOTOS ARE TAKEN?
Yes because the shoot is on-location, you get to choose where you would like them taken. I usually start off in your home and then we continue on to another destination such as the woods, park or beach or anywhere which has great memories for you. The natural style of the photos will highlight the wonderful character and essence of you, your child or children and the surroundings.
HOW LONG DOES THE SHOOT LAST?
Once the date has been booked we will run through clothing and location ideas, the shoot lasts for 1-2 hours which is enough time for me to get to know you all, help you feel relaxed and achieve the best photos possible. The most important part is that you all have fun, this makes for a wonderful experience which creates fantastic photos!
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PHOTOSHOOT?
Capturing the sparkle and character is the most important part, but the process has only just begun for me. I will then select the cream of the crop and professionally edit every single one of those images, enhancing the colour images, then creating black and white versions. Also if suited I will compliment the images with the use of beautiful colour tones, which add a modern, creative and very personalised touch to your collection. This usually takes about 3-4 hours.
HOW QUICKLY ARE THE IMAGES TURNED AROUND?
I turn-around the set of images within 1 week and place them in a private viewing area. I will give you a password so that you can access your gallery. From here you can view, select your favourites and place your order. Or if you prefer you can email, call or we can meet again to discuss the best options for you.
CAN YOU PRINT ON CANVAS AND OTHER FORMATS?
Yes, I can print onto Canvas, Acrylic and Wooden Block Mount. I also design and produce photobooks which hold 35 images or more! Please see my ‘Prints Option’ page under ‘Info’.
